When your friend finds a 70 Euro flight to Rome leaving that weekend, you pack your bags.
We flew out Thursday night after our classes got done and got an Airbnb right next to Vatican City.
When we first arrived in Rome at 1 am Friday morning, the taxi line was at least 3 hours long (We later found out this was likely because the train workers were on strike). We ended up having to overpay a dude who was chilling by the airport, which stunk, but at least we got to our Airbnb at a reasonable time
We didn't have any tickets to the main attractions of Rome (Pantheon, Sistine Chapel, Coliseum, etc.) but that didn't stop us from seeing all of the attractions and viewing them from the outside. Most of our days were filled with walking around, getting gelato, eating good food and just messing around and having fun.
Our flight back to Sevilla was at 6:00 on Sunday morning. Instead of spending extra money on an Airbnb for a half night's sleep, we found a storage locker for our backpacks and pulled an all-nighter. This gave us extra time to explore some of the things we had not seen yet, like the Spanish Steps, the world's fanciest McDonalds, and some of Rome's nightlife.
We made it to the airport around 3:00 and flew home to complete what was a very fun trip.
Our random favorite things from the trip (Pictured below):
Free water in the form of "bubblers" all around the city. We had a great time drinking out of these things.
My favorite overpriced Italian toothpaste, Marvis, I bought three tubes of this stuff and have already sent my other friends visiting Italy after to buy some more for me.
Mcdonalds sells cervezas?? (I know we are so lame going all the way to Italy & stopping at McDonalds) But regardless we thought the mcbeers were the funniest thing of all time.
